Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
Salary: £51,500 - £55,000
Shift: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 1:30pm (37.5 hours per week) + On-Call + Overtime Available
Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
A rare opportunity has become available for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business that continues to invest heavily in its people, equipment, and engineering infrastructure. This role offers the chance to become the site's electrical specialist, working within a highly automated production facility while developing into a senior technical position through structured succession planning.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit engineering team and work across a wide range of automated manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for electrical fault-finding, planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, continuous improvement projects, and supporting the development of engineering and production teams across site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Minimum Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Hands‑on experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills on industrial production machinery.
- Experience working with three-phase systems, motors, sensors and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Desirable Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- PLC fault finding, modification or programming experience.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Specialist or Senior Engineer.
- Ex‑Forces engineering background.
