Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their industrial facility in Sheffield . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all electrical equipment and systems within the plant. You will be responsible for executing planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial electrical maintenance and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant electrical equipment, including motors, switchgear, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently to minimize production interruptions.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems as required.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for electrical maintenance processes.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant trade certification.
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
• Strong understanding of 3-phase power systems, motor controls, and PLC systems .
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
