Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal operation and reliability of electrical infrastructure and equipment at their facility in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe working environment through proactive and reactive maintenance strategies. You will be responsible for the upkeep of a wide range of electrical systems, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective repairs. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to contribute to the operational efficiency of a leading organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment, systems, and installations to minimize the risk of failure.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns, diagnosing issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Carry out repairs and replacements of electrical components, wiring, control panels, and machinery.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including inspections, repairs, and parts used.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems as required.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related trade (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various types of electrical machinery and control systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to electrical work (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong practical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
