Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support their operations in Portsmouth . This role is essential for maintaining the electrical infrastructure and equipment that powers their facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. You will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a wide range of electrical systems, from high-voltage distribution to control systems. This is a key position within their engineering department, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of their industrial processes in the Hampshire area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on all electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using CMMS.
• Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and company safety standards.
• Participate in a call-out rota to provide emergency electrical support as required.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2330, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance , including power distribution, motor controls, and PLC systems.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and safety procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
