Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Rotherham Salary: £47,000 – £50,000 Shift: 4 on / 4 off – Days & Nights Industry: FMCG / Packaging
We’re recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, high-speed manufacturing and packaging facility in Rotherham.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for keeping high-speed production and packaging machinery running safely and efficiently, responding to breakdowns and helping to minimise costly downtime.
The Role
Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you’ll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of high-speed production and packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance.
*
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
*
Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed packaging machinery.
*
Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
*
Identify recurring faults and implement preventative solutions.
*
Support machinery installations, modifications and continuous improvement projects.
*
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
*
Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment availability.
*
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
About You
*
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
*
High-speed packaging machinery experience – essential.
*
Strong electrical fault-finding skills with a good mechanical understanding.
*
Recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
*
Experience working in a high-pressure production environment.
*
Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
*
Able to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
*
FMCG, food, packaging or similar high-volume manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
