Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their facilities team in Plymouth, Devon . This critical role involves ensuring the reliable operation and upkeep of all electrical systems and equipment within the company's facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, performing preventative maintenance, and implementing upgrades to enhance system performance and safety. This is a hands-on position for a practical engineer who can contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment, ensuring minimal downtime for operations, within a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions across various machinery and installations.
• Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations related to electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.

Requirements

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related trade (e.g., HNC, NVQ Level 3).
• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation, including relevant electrical safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
