About the Role
Our client, a prominent manufacturing company in Reading , is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This hybrid role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all electrical equipment and systems within the facility. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety. The role requires a balance of hands-on work on-site and remote administrative tasks, offering a dynamic working experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and testing of electrical equipment, including motors, generators, control panels, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules and strategies.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and test equipment effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for hybrid working.
