Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal functioning and reliability of electrical equipment and systems at their facility in Derby . This hands-on role involves proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical installations across the plant. You will be key to minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical engineer to contribute directly to the smooth running of a busy industrial operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns, performing efficient repairs to restore functionality.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities, minimizing disruption to operations.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Experience with high voltage equipment and safety procedures is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
