Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their facilities management team in Edinburgh . This role is essential for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of electrical systems within their prestigious premises. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault finding, and repairs to a wide range of electrical equipment, including power distribution systems, lighting, and machinery. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth running of operations, working directly on-site to uphold the highest standards of electrical safety and system integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems according to schedule.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently and safely.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical systems and equipment.
• Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings to understand system layouts.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with current electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant NVQ/C&G certifications or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within a facilities or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations .
• Experience with testing and inspection procedures (e.g., PAT testing).
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems independently.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to health and safety.
