Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their industrial operations team in Reading . This role is pivotal in ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of electrical systems and equipment across their facilities. You will be responsible for both preventative maintenance and prompt repair of electrical infrastructure, contributing directly to operational efficiency and safety compliance. This hands-on role is key within the Installation & Maintenance department, ensuring all electrical systems in and around Reading operate flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical inspections, testing, and maintenance on plant and machinery.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment as required.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with IET Wiring Regulations and other relevant standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and provide effective solutions.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, C&G).
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance and installation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing, fault finding, and control systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs and variable speed drives is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• A full UK driving license is required for site visits in the Reading area.
