About the Role
Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operations team based in Plymouth, Devon . This hands-on role is vital for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of all electrical equipment and systems within their facilities. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosing and rectifying faults, and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability. This is a key position for an experienced engineer dedicated to maintaining operational efficiency and upholding the highest standards of safety and performance in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently and effectively.
- Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and support operational needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance strategies.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related trade.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, schematics, and control systems.
- Experience with fault diagnosis and repair of various types of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to electrical work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills.
