About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal functioning and upkeep of electrical systems and equipment at their facility in Plymouth, Devon . This hands-on role is critical for minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical machinery and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical engineer with a strong background in maintenance and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions promptly and efficiently, minimizing operational disruption.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems according to specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in the CMMS system .
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies related to electrical work.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and provide on-the-spot solutions for electrical issues.
Requirements
- Recognized qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related trade.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, motors, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Awareness of health and safety best practices in electrical maintenance.
