About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is crucial for maintaining the electrical systems and equipment across various company facilities, ensuring operational continuity and safety. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs to a wide range of electrical installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, and a commitment to upholding high standards of electrical safety and compliance, contributing to the smooth operation of facilities in and around Norwich .
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to guide work.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with current safety regulations and standards (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with proven experience in an Electrical Maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including motors, control circuits, and PLCs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND) and ideally 18th Edition certification.
