About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their industrial operations team in Sunderland . This hands-on role is essential for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of our facilities by maintaining and repairing all electrical systems and equipment. You will work closely with the engineering and production departments to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and execute repairs to minimize downtime. This is a key position within the manufacturing and energy sector workforce in Tyne and Wear, contributing to operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, generators, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and failures in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Install new electrical equipment and systems as required, adhering to all safety standards and regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams and specifications.
- Good problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team in Sunderland .
