Electrical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Electrical Project Engineer to manage and deliver electrical engineering projects from inception to completion in Derby, Derbyshire . This role requires strong project management skills combined with technical expertise in electrical design and implementation. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing electrical project aspects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a key role requiring leadership and a proactive approach to project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage electrical engineering projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, and scheduling.
• Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Prepare project reports, including status updates, financial tracking, and post-project reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical project engineering or management.
• Proven experience in managing electrical infrastructure or industrial automation projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, power systems, and control systems.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
