Project: New Build Student Accommodation Development
Location: Manchester, North West
Job Type: Freelance
Duration: 12 Months+

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to support the delivery of a major student accommodation development in Manchester. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering 12 months plus of work on a high-profile residential scheme.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing electrical subcontractors and direct operatives, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the wider project team, you will coordinate site activities, manage materials, oversee quality assurance processes, and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Relevant Qualifications:
SMSTS
Valid CSCS Card
First Aid at WorkExperience:
Strong track record managing electrical subcontractors and direct labour on live construction projects
Proven industry expertise with a track record of overseeing electrical packages on major residential developmentsKey Skills:
Strong electrical knowledge
Competent IT / software skills
Extensive health and safety knowledge
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to organise and manage project schedules
A solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively
In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specificationsKey Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections and quality checks
Manage direct operatives and daily site activities
Attend site meetings and provide progress updates
Manage material deliveries, storage, and allocation
Oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractors on site
Monitor installation quality and implement QA procedures
Liaise with project managers, consultants, and other trades
Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed
Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation
Identify and resolve site issues to minimise programme disruption
Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture across the site team
Coordinate labour, materials, and resources to maintain programme targets
Manage health and safety documentation and site compliance requirements
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and standards
Support the successful delivery of the project through effective planning and coordinationContact Details:
