Electrical Supervisor – Data Centre Project, Milan Italy Location: Milan, Italy Rota: 2 weeks on site / long weekend home rotation Rate: £400 - £450 per day DOE Package: Flights, accommodation and expenses covered
The Role
We're recruiting an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a data centre project in Milan. This is a building services role, covering the electrical installation for the facility itself (power distribution, containment, LV/HV, generators, UPS, switchgear etc.) rather than IT rack installation or white space fit-out. 6–8 weeks duration, on a rotational shift pattern, working two weeks on site before heading home for a long weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day electrical building services installation works on site, ensuring works are delivered to programme and specification
- Manage and direct electrical subcontractors and labour, allocating tasks and monitoring output/productivity
- Carry out regular site walks and inspections to identify snags, quality issues, and installation defects before they escalate
- Liaise with the Project Manager and other trade supervisors (mechanical, BMS, fire, etc.) to ensure coordinated, clash-free installation
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and method statements to ensure correct installation
- Ensure all works comply with relevant electrical standards, health & safety regulations, and client procedures
- Complete and maintain all relevant H&S and site paperwork — including RAMS, permits to work, isolation/permit-to-work procedures, toolbox talks, and daily site diaries
- Monitor and enforce PPE compliance and safe working practices, including safe isolation procedures
- Manage plant, tools, and materials on site, ensuring availability and minimising delays
- Support testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical building services systems, and manage associated documentation
- Support snagging and de-snagging processes, tracking outstanding items through to close-out
- Attend site progress meetings and report on electrical progress, risks and issues
- Ensure quality control checks are carried out and documented in line with client requirements
- Support and mentor electrical operatives on site, promoting a strong safety and quality culture What We're Looking For
- Essential: Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on data centre projects, building services / MEP side (power, containment, distribution, generators, UPS etc)
- Strong track record of seeing projects through, genuine commitment and reliability
- Confident and thorough with site walks, inspections and quality checks
- Solid working knowledge of H&S requirements, safe isolation procedures, and site documentation/paperwork
- Comfortable managing subcontractors and coordinating with other trades
- Able to read and work from electrical drawings and specifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS, 18th Edition, First Aid) and right to work
- Willing to work the 2-weeks-on rotational pattern and travel to Milan Package
- £400 per day
