Job Description
Futures Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Switchgear Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on the design, manufacture, installation and support of LV/MV switchgear solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical background who understands switchgear systems and enjoys solving technical problems in a practical, fast-paced environment.
As an Electrical Switchgear Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting switchgear projects from initial technical requirements through to manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
Reviewing technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements Supporting the design and engineering of LV/MV switchgear and electrical distribution systems Producing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation Selecting appropriate components, protection devices and switchgear equipment Providing technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams Carrying out or supporting FAT, testing and commissioning Troubleshooting electrical and switchgear-related faults Working closely with project managers, customers, suppliers and site teams Ensuring designs and installations comply with relevant electrical standards and safety requirements The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with switchgear, control panels or electrical distribution equipment A strong understanding of LV and/or MV electrical systems Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics Knowledge of protection, control and distribution equipment A relevant electrical/electronic engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, production and project teams If you’re an experienced Electrical Switchgear Engineer looking for your next opportunity, I’d be keen to have a confidential conversation about the role
