Electrical Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join their dedicated team in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK . This role is focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex electrical systems across various industrial applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of electrical infrastructure, working closely with manufacturing and engineering departments. Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and instrumentation, for new and existing installations.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using industry-standard software.
• Perform electrical calculations and analysis, including load studies, short-circuit calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues, providing technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the successful integration of electrical systems into broader projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical systems design and implementation, preferably within an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical ) and familiarity with simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of power systems , motor controls, and instrumentation.
• Understanding of UK electrical regulations and safety standards (e.g., BS 7671).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
