Our client, a key player in the maritime technology sector, is seeking a dedicated Electrical Systems Engineer to join their team in Southampton . This role is integral to the design, integration, and testing of sophisticated electrical systems for advanced marine applications. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for marine vessels, including power generation, distribution, and control systems.
- Integrate electrical components and systems, ensuring seamless functionality and compatibility.
- Conduct performance testing , diagnostics, and troubleshooting of electrical installations.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to meet project requirements.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with maritime regulations and international standards (e.g., Lloyd's Register, DNV).
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems design and integration, preferably within the marine or offshore industry.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of power systems , control logic, and navigation/communication systems.
- Experience with relevant maritime classification society rules and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
