Electrical Technician Location: Barrow-in-Furness Rate: £306 per day PAYE plus 33 days holidays Start Date: October 2026 - 2 year contract duration Working Pattern: 9-day fortnight Working hours are 9 hours per day, 7:30am start. Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Technician to support maintenance operations at the Morecambe Hub in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical maintenance professional with a background in the oil and gas, petrochemical or similar process industry to join an operational team responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient performance of plant and equipment associated with gas production, processing and condensate storage. The successful Electrical Technician will undertake routine and non-routine electrical maintenance and defect repair activities, ensuring plant and equipment remains safe, reliable and available for scheduled operations. The role will involve investigating technical issues affecting critical plant, identifying appropriate solutions and supporting the return of equipment to normal service. You will also be involved in commissioning and decommissioning activities, plant modifications and technical improvements, as well as preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities. The role requires a strong commitment to safe working practices, permit-to-work procedures, process safety and environmental standards. The Electrical Technician will work closely with the E&I Team Lead, Maintenance Supervisor, Operations Support Supervisor and other Electrical, Mechanical and Instrument Technicians. The role may also involve supervising contractors and vendor personnel undertaking specific work activities, ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures. Experience within a petrochemical, oil and gas production or maintenance environment is essential, together with a sound understanding of engineering principles and electrical maintenance practices. A BTEC Ordinary Certificate or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline is required to provide the necessary underpinning knowledge. Candidates who are qualified as HV, SAEP or REP are particularly desirable. Experience of working within process environments and a strong understanding of the hazards associated with operating and maintaining process plant will also be highly valued. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders. You will be expected to maintain your technical competencies and continue developing your skills in line with industry best practice and the requirements of the role. You will also be required to undertake relevant emergency response duties and maintain the competencies necessary to fulfil these responsibilities, together with completing all mandatory Spirit Energy training and compliance requirements.
