About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Electrical Test Engineer to join their facility in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of the electrical components and systems that our client produces. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining test procedures and equipment, as well as analyzing test data to identify and resolve any issues. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to product excellence within a well-established engineering team in the Hampshire area, combining hands-on testing with analytical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for electrical assemblies and systems.
Design and build custom test fixtures and equipment as required.
Operate various electrical test instruments, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
Analyze test data, identify failure modes, and collaborate with design engineers to implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of test results, equipment calibration, and calibration status.
Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience in electrical testing and validation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with test automation software and scripting languages (e.g., LabVIEW, Python).
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit testing methodologies.
Experience with EMC/EMI testing is a plus.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
