Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading diagnostics business which is scaling up its engineering team due to new international investment. This is for a dynamic electronics engineer who can operate across hardware, firmware, and cross‑functional design areas while working in a heavily regulated environment. You will be involved directly in the design cycle that takes the company’s new technology from concept to the market. This is a permanent, full‑time, on‑site role based in Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design cycles, updates, and enhancements across an electronics‑heavy medical device.
- Documentation, traceability, and the technical file.
- Deliver design changes driven by new standards, global regulatory requirements, or product performance needs.
- Work hands‑on with hardware, firmware, mechanical, optical, and microfluidics specialists.
- Support verification and validation from a design perspective.
- Interface with global partners, including China‑based manufacturing groups.
- Contribute to next‑generation platforms with increased throughput and advanced architecture.
Key Requirements
- Strong background in electronics engineering.
- Experience in PCB design, PCB layout, embedded/firmware literacy.
- Hands‑on engineering mindset.
- Experience in regulated or process‑heavy industries (Medical devices, aerospace, automotive, nuclear, oil & gas).
- Exposure to ISO frameworks (ISO 13485 is a plus but not mandatory).
- Methodical, structured, documentation‑first mindset.
- Strong communicator and growth‑oriented.
