KO2's client is an exciting, fast-growing start-up developing next-generation IoT connected devices. They're building smart, connected hardware from the ground up, and are now looking for an Electronic Engineer to join their small, hands-on team as they take new products from concept through to production.
The Role
This is a genuinely broad, hands-on Electronic Engineer role within a start-up environment, where you'll be involved across the full hardware development lifecycle for connected products - from initial concept and circuit design, through prototyping and test, to supporting the move into production.
You'll work closely with firmware and mechanical engineers to deliver fully integrated, connected devices, and will have real influence over design decisions as the product range develops. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and wants the autonomy that comes with working in a small, agile team.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electronic hardware for new IoT connected products, from concept through to production Schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal, wireless-enabled designs Select and integrate wireless communication modules and protocols (e.g. BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT) Build and test prototypes, diagnosing and resolving hardware issues Work closely with firmware and mechanical engineers to deliver fully integrated products Support compliance and certification activity (EMC, radio compliance) as products move toward production Contribute to design-for-manufacture considerations ahead of scale-up Get involved across the full product lifecycle within a small, fast-moving teamEssential Experience
Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Solid experience in analogue and digital circuit design Hands-on PCB design and layout experience, from schematic capture through to production outputs Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle, from concept through prototyping to production A flexible, hands-on approach suited to a fast-moving start-up environmentDesirable Experience
Experience with wireless communication technologies (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT) Exposure to low-power design techniques for battery-powered devices Understanding of EMC and radio compliance/certification requirements Embedded C / firmware exposure CAD tools such as Altium DesignerWhat's On Offer
A salary of up to £50,000 The chance to join an ambitious start-up at an exciting stage of growth Genuine ownership and influence over product design decisions A collaborative, fast-paced working environment How to Apply If you're keen to get in on the ground floor of an exciting IoT start-up and help shape the next generation of connected products, contact Andrew Knight or Laurence Powell from KO2 Engineering & Technical Recruitment for all the details
