ELV Operative

Job Description
ELV Operative
Our client are not satisfied with simply recycling vehicles. They're driven by a bigger mission: recovering, reusing and repurposing every possible material from end-of-life vehicles, moving closer to a future where nothing goes to waste.
If you're happiest with your head under a bonnet and have a practical, mechanical mindset, this could be the perfect opportunity to build a rewarding career while making a real difference to the planet.
Join them as an ELV Operative and help create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
About the Role
Every vehicle that reaches the end of its life still contains valuable materials that can be recovered and returned to the supply chain. As an ELV Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring these materials are reused, repurposed or recycled wherever possible, reducing waste and conserving natural resources.
This is far more than a vehicle dismantling role. You'll become an expert in identifying opportunities to maximise recovery, minimise environmental impact and contribute to our client's sustainability goals.
What You'll Be Doing
As an ELV Operative, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing end-of-life vehicles safely and efficiently
- Recovering valuable materials for reuse, repurposing and recycling
- Carrying out vehicle depollution activities
- Operating specialist tools, machinery and equipment
- Completing health and safety checks and assessments
- Supporting production targets and operational efficiency
- Delivering excellent customer service to visitors bringing vehicles for recycling
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals
- Continuously developing new skills and industry knowledge
Training & Development
No two days are the same, and neither is your development journey.
Our client invests heavily in their people and will provide full training, including opportunities to:
- Gain an FLT (Forklift Truck) licence
- Learn vehicle depollution techniques
- Operate industry-leading equipment and machinery
- Develop health, safety and environmental expertise
- Build valuable skills that support long-term career progression
When you work for a global leader in sustainable materials, your opportunities for growth are virtually limitless.

- A positive attitude in all weather conditions
- A willingness to get stuck into hands-on work
- Strong problem-solving abilities and practical thinking
