Embedded Software Engineer (Electrical Systems)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer with a strong understanding of electrical systems to join their innovative R&D team in Cambridge . This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while contributing to the development of cutting-edge electronic products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software that interfaces directly with electrical hardware, playing a key role in bringing new technologies to life. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug embedded software for microcontrollers and other embedded systems.
• Write efficient, well-documented, and maintainable C/C++ code for real-time applications.
• Develop drivers and firmware for various electrical components and peripherals.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to define software requirements and integrate software with electrical designs.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing of embedded software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware integration issues for products developed in Cambridge .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably with C/C++.
• Familiarity with microcontroller architectures and embedded development tools (e.g., IDEs, debuggers).
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles and hardware interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team.
