About the role
Service Care Legal are recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a local authority in the South London region. As an Employment and Education Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation to our throughout the council on employment and education-related matters.
Role Details
ROLE: Employment Lawyer
LOCATION: Fully remote / South London
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week
RATE: £50ph LTD (£44.51ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £39.72ph PAYE exc. holiday pay)
Please note that this role can be done fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice and representation on employment and education-related matters
- Advise on changes in legislation and case law that may impact our organization
- Represent our organization in courts, tribunals, and inquiries
- Liaise with professional bodies, research institutions, and external organizations
- Maintain effective relationships with client departments and senior officers
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX
- Relevant experience working in employment and education law, preferably in local government
- Significant specialism in depth knowledge in employment and education law
- Experience of conducting complex cases with minimal supervision
- Experience of supervising and managing junior staff
