Job Description
18 Week Support are seeking motivated and compassionate Endoscopy Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support our Endoscopy services across Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway. As an Endoscopy HCA, you will play a key role in supporting patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, while assisting the wider clinical team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
- Assist Nurses and Endoscopists during endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and ERCP
- Prepare clinical areas, equipment, and stock in line with infection prevention and control standards
- Undertake patient observations and provide general patient care within the unit
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high standards of patient safety
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver an efficient and patient-focused service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months experience working as an Endoscopy HCA, within the last 12 months
- Previous NHS experience is essential
- Local candidates within 50 miles of Hampshire preferred
- Strong understanding of endoscopy environments and patient pathways
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering safe, effective patient care
- Flexible and adaptable approach to service requirements
