About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Energy Efficiency Consultant to join their sustainability team in Reading, Berkshire . This role focuses on assessing energy consumption across commercial and industrial properties, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing strategies to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions. You will work closely with clients to implement energy-saving measures and help them achieve their sustainability targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building performance, energy management systems, and relevant regulations, playing a key part in driving energy conservation and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct energy audits and surveys of commercial, industrial, and public sector buildings.
- Analyze energy usage data and identify key areas for efficiency improvements.
- Develop tailored recommendations and action plans for reducing energy consumption and costs.
- Advise clients on the implementation of energy-efficient technologies and practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, outlining findings and proposed solutions.
- Stay updated on energy efficiency standards, regulations, and available incentives.
- Assist clients in achieving energy certifications and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy management, building performance, or energy consultancy.
- Proficiency in energy auditing tools and techniques, including thermal imaging and data analysis.
- Knowledge of building physics, HVAC systems, lighting, and other energy-consuming systems.
- Understanding of relevant energy efficiency standards (e.g., ISO 50001) and government policies.
- Excellent report writing and client-facing communication skills.
