Key Responsibilities
- Analyse current and future trends in the UK power and gas markets , including supply, demand, and regulatory factors.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated price forecasting models for energy commodities.
- Monitor and report on key market drivers, including geopolitical events, weather patterns, and policy developments.
- Assess the impact of new government policies and carbon pricing mechanisms on market participants.
- Prepare regular market intelligence reports, briefings, and presentations for senior management and trading teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide market insights that support commercial strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy market analysis , commodity trading, or economic consulting.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Excel, R, Python) and database querying.
- Solid understanding of the UK electricity and natural gas markets, including their structures and key players.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with energy trading platforms and data sources is an advantage.
