Energy Storage Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join their innovative team, remotely supporting projects across the UK, including significant work in Northern Ireland . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimisation of advanced energy storage solutions that are critical for grid stability and the integration of renewable energy sources. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems (ESS), including battery and potentially other storage technologies.
• Specify components, including batteries, inverters, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Balance of Plant (BOP).
• Develop control strategies and algorithms for optimal ESS operation, grid interaction, and performance.
• Perform system modelling, simulation, and analysis to predict performance and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning and operation of ESS projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of energy storage systems or power electronics for renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of battery technologies, BMS, inverters, and grid-tied systems.
• Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or similar for power systems analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety protocols for ESS.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for remote collaboration.
