About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join their innovative team, remotely supporting projects across the UK, including significant work in Northern Ireland . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimisation of advanced energy storage solutions that are critical for grid stability and the integration of renewable energy sources. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of energy management, working with cutting-edge technology from a company dedicated to providing sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems (ESS), including battery and potentially other storage technologies.
- Specify components, including batteries, inverters, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Balance of Plant (BOP).
- Develop control strategies and algorithms for optimal ESS operation, grid interaction, and performance.
- Perform system modelling, simulation, and analysis to predict performance and ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning and operation of ESS projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of energy storage systems or power electronics for renewable energy.
- Strong understanding of battery technologies, BMS, inverters, and grid-tied systems.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or similar for power systems analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety protocols for ESS.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for remote collaboration.
