Energy Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Energy Systems Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge projects in Belfast . You will be involved in the design, development, and optimisation of energy systems, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and emerging energy technologies. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, bridging the gap between office-based design and on-site implementation, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyse energy systems , including power generation, distribution, and storage solutions.
• Develop technical specifications and documentation for new energy system installations and upgrades.
• Conduct performance testing and diagnostics on existing energy infrastructure.
• Optimise system efficiency and identify opportunities for energy saving measures.
• Research and evaluate new energy technologies and their potential applications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site teams and project managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems engineering or energy infrastructure.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, MATLAB).
• Knowledge of renewable energy integration and grid stability concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
