Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Energy Trader to join their trading desk, operating remotely from anywhere in the UK. This role is central to the company's strategy for optimizing energy assets and managing market exposure in the volatile energy sector . You will be responsible for executing trades across various energy commodities, managing risk, and identifying market opportunities to maximize profitability. This position demands a sharp analytical mind, a deep understanding of energy markets, and the ability to make swift, informed decisions in a fast-paced, remote trading environment .
Key Responsibilities
- Execute trading strategies for physical and financial energy commodities (e.g., gas, power, oil derivatives).
- Monitor market movements, news, and analysis to identify trading opportunities and manage risk exposures.
- Optimize trading positions to achieve profitability targets while adhering to risk management policies.
- Liaise with counterparties, brokers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate trades and manage settlements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key market participants and information providers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Energy Trader or in a similar quantitative trading role within the energy markets.
- In-depth knowledge of energy commodity markets, trading mechanisms, and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with trading platforms and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, essential for a remote role.
