This role is crucial for optimising energy trading strategies and managing market risk within the volatile energy sector. You will analyse market trends, forecast prices, and support the trading desk with data-driven insights to maximise profitability and mitigate exposure. This position requires a strong quantitative background and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative trading environment. The role is office-based to facilitate direct interaction with the trading team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse global energy markets, including oil, gas, power, and environmental products.
• Develop and maintain predictive models for energy price forecasting.
• Monitor trading positions and provide real-time risk assessments to the trading desk.
• Identify trading opportunities and provide actionable recommendations based on market intelligence.
• Support the development and implementation of new trading strategies and tools.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant trading regulations and internal policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy trading, analysis, or a related financial role.
• Strong understanding of energy commodity markets and derivatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python).
