Engineering Geologist - Manchester
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Location: Manchester
An established consultancy is looking for an Engineering Geologist to join their growing team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Geologist looking to develop their technical experience across a variety of ground investigation and geotechnical projects.
The Role
You'll be involved in both site and office-based work, supporting projects from initial ground investigation through to reporting and interpretation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and undertaking ground investigations Site supervision and logging of boreholes, trial pits and window samples Soil and rock logging in accordance with current standards Groundwater monitoring and sampling Reviewing geological and historical information Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports Supporting geotechnical assessments and foundation recommendations Working with laboratory and site investigation data Preparing drawings and geological sections using CAD/GIS Liaising with clients, contractors and other technical teams
About You
Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology or a related subject Previous experience within ground investigation or engineering geology Good understanding of UK geology and ground conditions Experience with site investigation, geological logging and reporting Familiarity with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes Strong written and verbal communication skills Full UK driving licence
