About the Role
Our client requires a diligent Engineering Installation Operative to join their busy installation and maintenance team in Southampton . This hands-on role is essential for the successful deployment of various engineering systems and equipment at client sites across the South Coast. You will be responsible for the physical installation, initial setup, and basic testing, ensuring that all work is carried out to precise specifications and adheres to strict safety standards. The successful candidate will possess strong practical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the physical installation of engineering components and systems in accordance with detailed plans and instructions.
- Ensure all installed equipment is correctly positioned, secured, and connected as per technical drawings.
- Perform initial system checks and basic functional tests to verify proper installation.
- Adhere to all company and site-specific health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times, both during and after installation activities.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork, including installation reports and site completion forms.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an installation, assembly, or hands-on engineering support role.
- Proficiency in using a range of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation guides.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to installation tasks.
- Good communication skills for interacting with site supervisors and team members.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential for travel within the Southampton area and wider Hampshire region.
