Job Description
Experteer Overview As Engineering Manager at the Chesterton factory, you lead engineering and continuous improvement to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and safety. You collaborate cross-functionally to deliver capital projects, 5S housekeeping, and data-driven performance improvements that support sustainable, high-quality building products. You'll develop the team, align plans with company objectives, and drive world-class engineering standards. Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate Company, Factory and Team plans and ensure focused execution
- Lead people management, motivation, and performance reviews to deliver objectives
- Provide engineering and technical expertise to enable Continuous Improvement across manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures
- Collect, analyse and utilise engineering, production and process data to hit targets
- Develop systems/standards for 5S housekeeping within the engineering environment
- Design and implement capital improvement projects to enhance manufacturing capability
- Utilise a CMMS/PPM approach for planned maintenance and stock control
- Collaborate across Ibstock Brick support functions to build effective working relationships
Key requirements
- Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, preferably in Construction
- Raw Materials
- Self-motivation
- Demonstrable supervisory experience
- Effective communication at all business levels
- Strong organisational skills and procedural discipline
- Leadership and man-management capability with performance-based development
- Experience with absence management and assessments
- Ability to apply structured problem solving, deliver solutions, and delegate
- High computer literacy and numeracy; proficient with Microsoft applications, CMS and PPM Systems
