Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager – Building Services Location: Central London Salary: £70,000 + package

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong building services background to take responsibility for the engineering operation of a prestigious Central London site.

The role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven leadership and people-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day engineering operation across the site, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.

Manage and develop a team of engineers and technical staff.

*

Oversee planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and remedial works.

*

Take responsibility for mechanical and electrical building services and critical engineering infrastructure.

*

Ensure all statutory, compliance, PPM, reactive, and helpdesk requirements are delivered within agreed SLAs.

*

Manage specialist subcontractors and engineering service providers.

*

Monitor plant performance, system reliability, energy efficiency, and engineering standards.

*

Lead the response to engineering faults, incidents, and critical system failures.

*

Maintain strong working relationships with the client and key stakeholders.

*

Drive continuous improvement, engineering best practice, and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies, and site procedures.

About You

*

Proven engineering management experience within building services, facilities management, or a similar environment.

*

Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.

*

Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.

*

Good understanding of commercial building services and critical engineering systems.

*

Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance, compliance, and statutory requirements.

*

Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

*

Relevant engineering qualification or professional accreditation is desirable.
