Engineering Technician

The Opportunity Wolviston Management Services are pleased to be supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced Engineering Technician to join their established Engineering & Maintenance team in Middlesbrough. Operating within a diverse heavy industrial and logistics environment, our client has a long-established presence in the Teesside region and operates a wide range of complex plant, equipment and infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on engineering professional to join a varied and fast-paced operation, supporting the reliability, safety and performance of critical plant and equipment across the site. We are keen to hear from candidates from a variety of engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, plant, marine and heavy industrial maintenance backgrounds.

The Role

Working as part of the Engineering & Maintenance team, you will support the inspection, maintenance, repair and improvement of a diverse range of industrial equipment and site assets. Key responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities Responding to breakdowns and completing reactive repairs Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical and/or electrical issues Conducting equipment inspections, servicing and routine maintenance Supporting engineering projects, modifications and equipment upgrades Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures Working closely with engineering and operational teams to minimise downtime Equipment & Assets You will have the opportunity to work across a varied range of equipment, including:

Cranes and lifting equipment Overhead cranes Conveyors and material handling systems Fixed and mobile plant Locomotives Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Mechanical drives and rotating equipment Marine and heavy industrial assets About You We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in:

Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Plant Engineering Marine Engineering Crane and Lifting Equipment Engineering Overhead Crane Maintenance Heavy Industrial Maintenance Manufacturing and Production Engineering Mobile Plant Maintenance Military Engineering You may currently be working as an Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Technician, Plant Engineer or within a similar hands-on engineering position. Ideally, you will bring:

Previous engineering or maintenance experience within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, marine, plant, logistics or similar environment Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities A proactive approach to maintenance and equipment reliability A strong commitment to health and safety The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team Good communication and organisational skills A flexible approach to working across different types of plant and equipment What's on Offer?
