English & Maths Tutor - Sefton

Location: Sefton Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting an experienced English & Maths Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition to a learner in Sefton.

The ideal candidate will be confident supporting core subjects and able to adjust lessons to suit the learner's ability, interests and educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging 1:1 English and Maths tuition Support learners across key areas of the curriculum Identify and address gaps in knowledge Prepare appropriately differentiated activities Build confidence and motivation Encourage independent learning Monitor and communicate learner progress

Requirements

Strong knowledge of English and Maths Previous teaching or tutoring experience Experience working with secondary-aged learners Ability to differentiate and adapt lessons Excellent communication and organisation Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references
