About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Brighton , responsible for Key Stage 3 and 4 students. This role involves delivering engaging lessons that foster a love for literature, language, and communication, preparing students for GCSE examinations. You will work collaboratively with a strong English department, contributing to curriculum development and ensuring all students achieve their full academic potential in a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Develop students' analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills in relation to literature and language.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the English curriculum and departmental initiatives.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement in Brighton .

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in English or a related subject, with experience teaching English at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for English and GCSE examination requirements.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for a hybrid delivery model, balancing in-person and potential online preparation.
