English Tutor
Help Learners Develop Confidence in English
We're looking for an English Tutor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 tuition.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities , you'll provide tailored support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have faced barriers to education and benefit from a personalised approach that helps improve literacy, communication, confidence, and overall engagement with learning.
We're particularly interested in tutors who can support learners in:
- Crawley
- Worthing
- Horsham
- Chichester
- Bognor Regis
- Littlehampton
Location: West Sussex
Subject: English
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting , including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
- Strong English subject knowledge
- Ability to deliver engaging and personalised lessons
- Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex
Who You'll Support
You'll work with children and young people who may have:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- ADHD
- Anxiety and school avoidance
- EHCPs and additional educational needs
