About the Role

Our client is recruiting an Environmental Cleaning Operative to join their dedicated team in Southampton . Key Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning and disinfection of designated areas, including washrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
• Implement waste management procedures, including segregation and proper disposal of general and potentially hazardous waste.
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as industrial vacuums and floor polishers, ensuring their proper maintenance.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including COSHH regulations and the correct use of PPE.
• Respond promptly to spillages and other cleaning emergencies, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
• Maintain accurate logs of cleaning activities, chemicals used, and any safety concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cleaning or sanitation role, preferably with knowledge of environmental health standards.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
• Good understanding of health and safety protocols in a cleaning context.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods.
• A detail-oriented approach and a strong work ethic.
