Environmental Compliance Officer - Mining

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Compliance Officer to join their remote team, supporting operations near Norwich . You will play a critical role in ensuring that all mining activities meet stringent environmental regulations and sustainability standards. This position involves monitoring environmental impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and managing permits and reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of environmental law, ecology, and sustainable mining practices, with the ability to work independently and effectively manage compliance across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the environmental impact of mining operations, including water quality, air emissions, and land use.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and permit conditions.
• Prepare environmental reports, permit applications, and liaise with regulatory agencies.
• Conduct environmental training and awareness programs for site personnel.

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably within the mining or extractive industries.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and impact assessment methodologies.
• Experience with environmental monitoring equipment and data analysis.
• Strong organizational, reporting, and communication skills.
