About the Role
Our client is actively searching for a diligent Environmental Compliance Officer to join their team in Oxford . This role is essential for ensuring that all operations adhere to stringent environmental, health, and safety regulations, with a particular focus on sanitation and waste management. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring practices, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. This position requires a methodical approach and a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental and sanitation standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high levels of hygiene and safety.
- Oversee waste management programs, including segregation, recycling, and disposal.
- Investigate incidents and non-compliance issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, training, and incident reports.
- Provide training to staff on environmental best practices and health & safety procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an environmental health and safety or compliance role.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant UK environmental, health, and safety legislation.
- Ability to conduct effective audits and risk assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
- Relevant professional qualifications in health and safety or environmental management are a plus.
