Environmental Manager - Mining Operations (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental management systems and strategies for mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local environmental legislation and permits.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and develop mitigation plans.
• Oversee monitoring programs for air quality, water quality, noise, and biodiversity.
• Manage waste management strategies and rehabilitation plans for mine sites.
• Provide environmental training and guidance to site personnel and management teams.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and local communities on environmental matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental management, with a significant portion in the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing environmental compliance programs.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely across different sites.
