About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Environmental Services Assistant to support their operations in Norwich . This role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for staff, visitors, and residents within various facilities. You will be involved in a range of cleaning, sanitation, and waste management duties, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and contributing to the overall well-being of the premises. This hands-on position requires a meticulous approach and a strong commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitisation of assigned areas, including offices, public spaces, and restrooms.
• Manage waste streams effectively, including segregation, collection, and disposal of general and specialised waste.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring it is kept in good working order.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and attend to any spillages or hazards.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or reporting building defects.
• Uphold all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cleaning or environmental services role is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling practices.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning and waste management.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including standing, lifting, and bending.
