About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Technician to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for their facility in Sunderland . This role is critical for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control, particularly important in sensitive environments. You will be an integral part of the facilities management team, responsible for comprehensive cleaning, sanitation, and waste management procedures, directly contributing to the health and safety of all occupants.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of all assigned areas, including clinical or operational spaces.
• Manage and dispose of general, recyclable, and potentially infectious waste streams safely.
• Maintain and operate specialized cleaning equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Respond to emergency cleaning needs and spillages promptly and effectively.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and hygiene standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and waste management.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and operate cleaning machinery.
