About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Estate Gardener to maintain and enhance the extensive grounds of a prestigious property near Liverpool . This role involves a wide range of horticultural activities, from detailed border management to large-scale lawn care and woodland upkeep. You will be responsible for ensuring the estate gardens are presented to the highest standard, reflecting a commitment to horticultural excellence and aesthetic beauty. This position is ideal for a passionate gardener who takes pride in their work and enjoys contributing to the upkeep of significant landscaped areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, including mowing, edging, and seasonal treatments.
• Care for flower beds, herbaceous borders, and shrubberies, including planting, pruning, weeding, and feeding.
• Manage and operate garden machinery and tools, ensuring they are kept in good working order.
• Undertake propagation of plants where necessary.
• Assist with the upkeep of walled gardens, vegetable plots, and potentially glasshouses.
• Contribute to seasonal planting schemes and garden development projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a gardener, ideally within an estate or large garden setting.
• Strong knowledge of plants, soil science, and pest/disease identification and control.
• Proficiency in using a variety of horticultural machinery and hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• A keen eye for detail and a high standard of horticultural practice.
