Estate Manager - Rural Properties

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estate Manager to oversee the management of significant rural properties and landholdings in the vicinity of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role involves the strategic management of land, property assets, and associated agricultural activities, ensuring profitability and sustainability. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of property care, managing budgets, and liaising with tenants, contractors, and regulatory bodies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to take charge of diverse rural assets in a beautiful part of the UK .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of rural estates, including land, forestry, and agricultural tenancies.
• Oversee property maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and operational costs are controlled.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and agricultural legislation.
• Manage relationships with tenants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Implement sustainable land management practices to enhance biodiversity and environmental value.

Requirements

• Proven experience in estate management, property management, or rural asset management.
• Strong understanding of agricultural practices, land use, and rural property law in the UK .
• Excellent financial management and budgeting skills.
• Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing diverse teams and individuals.
• A degree or professional qualification in Estate Management, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
